Read SSC CHSL Exam 2016 Notification

Pattern and  SSC CHSL syllabus 2016:

Tier-I or Computer based written examination – This exam will be objective for 200 Marks (100 question) with 2 hours of Duration. The subjects in This exam will be General Intelligence for 50 marks, English Language for 50 marks, Basic arithmetic skill for 50 marks and General awareness for 50 marks.

Note: 0.5 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

SSC CHSL syllabus of Tier-I (Computer based written exam)

General Intelligence – This will include questions like Figural analogy, figural classification, Critical Thinking, Problem-solving capacity, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence, Coding, and Decoding etc.

English Language – This Subject in SSC CHSL will include questions like English Grammer, Synonyms, Antonyms, Conversion into the direct/indirect narration, Comprehension passage etc.

Arithmetic – Number systems like decimal and Fraction Relationship between numbers, Percentages, square roots, Averages, Calculation of simple and compound rate of interest, Discount, profit and loss, Basic Algebra identities of school algebra, Geometrical figures like triangle/circle and its chords, Mensuration like triangle/quadrilaterals, Use of table and graphs.

General Awareness – This includes questions to test the general awareness of the candidate. It will include subjects like current events, History/culture/geography of India.

SSC CHSL Syllabus of Tier-II exam (descriptive type)

This exam will be for 100 marks of one-hour duration. Candidates can write this exam either in Hindi or English. Partly in both languages will not be accepted. This paper will have essay writing within 200-250 words, application writing within 150-200 words.

SSC CHSL syllabus of Tier-III exam
This exam will be of skill test and typing test. Candidates those who qualify the tier-I and Tier-II exam only will be called for this exam. This exam is just to test the typing knowledge and skill of the candidate, marks scored in this exam will not be considered in selecting the candidates. Only the marks scored in Tier-I and Tier-II will be considered for making the final selection list.

Skill Test for Date Entry Jobs – Candidates should have the data entry speed of 8000 words per hour on the computer.

Typing Test For Postal Assistant jobs/Sorting Assistant/LDC’s and court Clerks – Candidates who opting the English language in this exam should have the typing speed of 35 words per minute and candidates opting the Hindi language should have the typing speed of 30 words per minute.
