KEA PDO Syllabus pattern:
KEA Selection procedure consists of a competitive exam , The KEA exam will be conducted in two different Papers, Paper I will be of subject General Knowledge, General English and General Kannada for 200 marks. Paper II will be of Rural Development and Panchayath Raj for 200 marks. Both the exams will be of objective type with 02 marks each question and 02 hours of duration each for the exam.
KEA PDO syllabus:
There will be two different papers in KEA PDO exams. They are
Paper I of Kea PDO Syllabus
General Knowledge – topics Related to the current events of India especially Karnataka, General Sciences, Geography, Social Sciences, Indian Society and its dynamics, Indian History, Indian constitution and public administration, Practical Knowledge and Mental Ability (SSLC Level), Social and Cultural History of Karnataka, Land reforms and social changes in Karnataka after Independence, Strength/weakness and present status of Karnataka Economy, Rural Development/Panchayath Raj Institutions and rural co-operatives, Role of science and Technology for effective administration of Karnataka, Environmental problems and the development issues of Karnataka.
General English/Kannada– English/Kannada Grammer, Vocabulary, spelling, Synonyms, Antonyms, Powe to understand and Comprehend English Language and ability to discriminate between correct and incorrect Usage.
Paper II of Kea PDO syllabus.
Rural Development and Panchayath Raj Knowledge.
Constitution of Grama Panchayat:- Under This Topic the questions will be related to subjects like Declaration of Panchayat Area and establishment of Grama Panchayats, Constitution of Grama Panchayath Standing Committees, Method of voting and procedure for election, Appointment of administrator of Grama Panchayats, List of Voters, Corrupt Practices, Resignation of member Etc
Functions, Duties and Powers of Grama Panchayath President and Vice President:- Under this Subject the topics will be from Functions of the Grama Panchayat, General powers of the Grama Panchayat, Standing Committees, other Committees, Powers and duties of the President and Vice President, Power of Grama Panchayat as to roads, bridges, Regulation of erection of buildings, Licensing of shops Etc.
Staff of Grama Panchayats:- these topics covers subjects like Secretary, Staffing pattern and schedule of employees, Appointment and Control of employees, System of Additional Technical Staff to Grama Panchayats.
Conversion of a smaller urban area or a transitional area and amalgamation:- This is mainly for the testing knowledge of development of an area, this will have topics like Effect of conversion of a smaller urban area or a transitional area into a Panchayat area, Term of office of members of interim Grama Panchayat and their powers, Effect of amalgamation of Panchayat area.
Taxes and Fees:- This includes the subjects like Levy of Taxes/tax rate/Taxes and Other Dues which comes under the Grama Panchayath
Grants and Funds of Grama Panchayats:- This will include the source of funds in Garma Panchayath, the role of Zilla Panchayath and Taluk Panchayat etc.
Financial Control and Audit:-Budget presentation, Revision of budget, Audit of accounts, Presentation of Accounts in Grama Panchayath/Taluk Panchayath and Zilla Panchayath.
