Minorities Merit Cum Means Scholarship
This scheme Merit Cum Means Scholarship is awarded only in India to Meritorious students from minority communities to enable them to study technical and professional course. This scholarship for minorities is distributed through state government of Union Territories Administration.
The scholarship is awarded as two different parts,
1) Maintenance allowance:
This will be paid only for ten months
* Rs 1000 / month for students staying in hostel (Rs 1000 * 10 months =10000 )
* Rs 500 / month for students staying in home (Rs 500 * 10 months =5000)
2) Course fee:
Rs 10000 per year or the actual fees (whichever is lesser) for students staying in hostel and in home.
Total Amount
10000 + 20000 = 30000 for students staying in hostel
5000 + 20000 = 25000 for students staying in home
Conditions for applying for these minorities scholarship 2016-17 are:
1) Will be paid for students from Minorities to pursue graduation or post- graduation level technical or Professional Courses.
2) The amount will be directly deposited to the bank account of students.
3) Students who get admission to a college to pursue any technical or Professional courses on the basis of competitive exam will be eligible to apply.
4) Student who gets admission without any competitive exam also can apply but he/she need to have more than 50% marks at higher secondary or graduation level (selection will be done only through merit basis)
5) This Scholarship can be continued if the students successfully complete the course in present year.
6) The student who gets this scholarship will not get any other scholarships for this course.
7) The annual income of the parents or guardian should not exceed more than 2.5lakh.
8) The income certificate will have to renew and submitted every year.
9) Aadhaar card number is also necessary for the payment.
10) Scholarships will not be paid foe MBBS Students or students who pursue any practical training and if the students are receiving any remuneration or allowance during the practical training period.
Minorities scholarship will be suspended or Cancelled :
* If the students has been reported misconduct by the institution.
* If the students is irregular in Attendance
* If the student changes the institution without prior notice to the State Government or Union Territory Administration
Scholarship Will have to be Refunded :
* In Case the student is obtained the scholarship by false statement
* In case the students changes the course of study during the scholarship period
How to Apply Merit Cum Means Scholarship For Minorities:
Its mandatory for all students who apply for the scholarships to apply online in the official website http://www.scholarships.gov.in/
Documents Required for Applying minorities scholarship 2016-17:
- Photo
- Institution Verification Form
- Self-declaration of Income Certificate
- Self-declaration of Community
- Self-attested previous mark sheet as filled in form
- Fee receipt of current course year
- Proof of bank account in the name of Student
- Aadhar Card
- Residential Certificate.
Students have to scan and upload all the above mentioned documents while applying online.
