The Post-Matric scholarships was planned
under “The Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme for the Welfare of
Minorities” that was announced in June 2016. Post-Matric scholarships are
awarded to minority students with merit throughout the education after his
Matriculation (10th class). Even today lot of students fail to apply
for this scholarship because lack of knowledge of this Scheme.
Government of
India has awarded 500 crores in the financial year 2014 - 15 as the main
objective of this scholarship scheme was to provide opportunities to economic
weaker section of minorities to get higher education and thereby increase the
education and employability among the minorities.
Who can apply?
Students who
study in India under any government or Private Higher secondary school/college
or universities which comes under any of central government / state government
or Union Territory administration. It is also available for students who pursue
vocational courses in Industrial training Institutes.
Minorities
who can apply for this scholarship are: Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists,
Jains and Parsis, notified in section 2 (c) of the national commission of
minorities act.
Conditions for applying Post - Matric scholarships are:
The income of parents should not exceed more than 2 lakh from all sources
(Preference will be given to students from BPL families having lowest income)
The scholarship will be discontinued if student fail to secure 50% marks in previous final exam
The scholarship will be not be awarded for taking more than normal time to obtain Degree/M.Phil/Doctorate Degree
will not be given to more than two students from a family
The student should be regular to classes and methods of attendance will be decided by the institution or college
If the student violates any terms and conditions of scholarship the scholarship will be suspended or cancelled
The state government or Union territory administration has the right for recovering the full amount paid if the student found fraud by submitting false statement or certificates.
The scholarship amount payable to students will be directly credited to their bank account.
Post-matric Scholarship once awarded can be renewed by submitting the previous year’s marks card if the student has secured 50% marks.

Mandatory
certificates or documents that have to be scanned and uploaded for fresh
application and for renewal of application are:
Institution Verification Form
Self-Declaration of Income Certificate by the Student
Self-Declaration of community by the Student
Self-attested certificates of Previous academic marks sheet as filled in application form
Fee Receipt of current course
Bank account proof in the name of student
Residential certificate
Optional Document to submit:
Aadhaar
card
