As per the MRB Notification no 10/MRB/2016, MRB Special qualifying examination is for the persons appointed as Assistant Surgeons/Medical Officer and NonService Post Graduate/Diploma Holders in Health and Family Department and still continuing service In Tamilnadu Government jobs. Medical Recruitment Board Exam is conducted to promote them as Assistant Surgeons on regular basis.
About Medical Recruitment Board (MRB):
Medical Services Recruitment Board was started in the year 2012 by Government of Tamilnadu. The Objective for Starting Medical Recruitment Board was to make appointments in various categories of staff in Health and Family Welfare Department by Direct Recruitment. Recruitment for all The Post in Heath and Family Departments except Drivers and posts under TNPSC – Tamilnadu Public Service Commission are done by Medical Recruitment Board – MRB.

Education Qualification:
For applying to MRB Recruitment, Candidates should have completed MBBS In Addition Candidate Must Be a Registered practitioner under Madras Medical Registration Act 1914, Must Have served as House Surgeon (CRRI) for more than one year.
Medical Recruitment Board Application Procedure:
Candidates have to register online in the official MRB Website mrb.tn.gov.in before 17-10-2016 by providing basic details. Candidates have to upload a photograph and signature while filling MRB online application form. After submitting the online application form, Candidates have to take the printout of the fully filled online Application form and send to Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine through Concerned Head of the Departments. Candidates can pay the exam fees through online mode using Debit Card/Credit Card/Online banking, the candidate has the option of paying fees in the bank also.
Candidates who like to pay fees directly in a bank can take a printout of Fees payment receipt after filling MRB online application form and pay the fees in any of the branches of Indian Bank across Tamilnadu before 19-10-2016.

SC/SCA/ST/PH – Rs 375/-
All other candidates – Rs 750/-
MRB Recruitment Assistant Surgeon Syllabus:
MRB Exam will be for Single paper objective type, 200 questions for 100 marks. Duration for an exam will be 2:30 hours. Passing marks will be 35 for general candidates and 30 for SC/SC A/ST. The questions will be of MBBS standard.
