As per the WB staff selection Commission indicative Advertisement no.10/WBSSC/2016, Stenographer vacancy is available in Finance and Consumer affairs department. 32 vacancy of Stenographer (Schedule – A) in Finance department and 10 vacancies of Stenographer (Schedule – B) in Consumer affairs are available in this SSC Notification. Candidates selected for this WBSSC vacancy will get the salary of Rs 7100 – Rs 37600/- with the grade pay of Rs 3600/-. Education Qualification
Candidates applying for thsi WBSSC Vacancy should be a Pass in Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal board of Secondary Education or its equivalent and must have the Knowledge in Computer Literacy
Selection Procedure
Selection for this Stenographer vacancy will be made on the basis of Written Exam and Document Verification. Candidates based on the merit of marks scored in the Written exam will be shortlisted for Document Verification
WBSSC exam Syllabus
The written exam for this WBSSC Vacancy consists of three papers
Paper I – General English
This Paper will be for 100 marks with 90 minutes Duration. The Subjects under this paper will be, Spelling of words, Correct use of words, synonyms, antonyms and Punctuation.
Paper II – Dictation and Transcription
This Paper consists of “Dictation” with 10 minutes duration and “Transcription of Shorthand notes in Computer” with one hour duration. Paper III will be conducted before Paper II and those who qualify paper III will only be allowed for paper II exam.
Paper III – Computer Typing
Candidates will have to type from a book/document in Computer at the speed of 35 words per minute. This test will be conducted for the duration of 10 minutes only. Candidates who successfully complete Paper I will be allowed for Paper III.
