Union Public Service Commission Online application is invited for UPSC Recruitment for Engineering Service examination 2017, Candidates are advised to go through this article of UPSC notification for complete details of UPSC Registration.  Candidates willing to write UPSC exam can apply online by filling the UPSC online application form. UPSC exam date for the Engineering services will be in January 2017.

About UPSC Recruitment:

As per the UPSC Recruitment notification dated 28-09-2016, applications are invited from the candidates interested in UPSC exam for the Engineering Services Examination 2017. Total 440 vacancies are available. Recruitment will be done in four Categories like Civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. Selection will be based on Preliminary exam and Main Exam in which the preliminary exam will be conducted on 08th January 2017.

Union Public Service is responsible for the recruitment by Conducting competitive exams and interviews in various civil services. UPSC Exam is conducted in various streams like Civil Services, Indian Forest Service, Combined defence service examination etc. The main Exam under the civil services is IPS-Indian Police service and IAS-Indian Administrative service.

Preliminary UPSC Exam date – 08-01-2017

Education qualification:
Engineering Degree from a recognised university Or Passed section A and B of exam conducted by Institute of Engineers Or Obtained a degree from foreign university that is recognised by Indian Govt Or Pass in the Graduate Membership Exam conducted by Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers Or Pass in the Association membership exam Section A and B of the aeronautical Society of India Or pass in the Graduate Membership exam conducted by The Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers London.

Selection procedure:
Selection will be based on four steps, Preliminary Exam, Main exam, Personality Test and Medical Examination. Candidates will be selected on the merits of marks assured in the written examination. Candidates selected in the written exam will have to undergo medical examination conducted in the Zonal Railway Hospitals.

 UPSC Exam Syllabus:
Preliminary Exam – This Test is done for the selection of candidates for the main exam. This exam will be objective type in 2 Papers. General Studies and Engineering Aptitude for 200 marks with 2 hours of duration and Civil engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics Engineering exam for 300 marks with 3 hrs duration.

Note: There will be penalty marking for this exam. 1/3 of the marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Main Examination – This Test will be of a Conventional type in 2 Papers, Both papers will be of same subjects, This test is for 300 marks each paper with 03 hrs of duration for each paper. The subjects will be based on the stream of selection, the subjects are Civil engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering and Electronics and Telecommunications engineering.

Personality Test – This Test Will be for 200 marks. This test is done for assessing candidates capacity for leadership, Initiative and Intellectual curiosity, tact and other social responsibilities, mental and physical energy etc.

Application procedure:
Candidates have to apply on the official UPSC website before 26-10-2016. After filling the application candidates have to pay the application fees through online mode. Candidates willing to pay fees by cash can take the computer generated fees receipt and pay the cash in any of the State Bank of India branches.

All other candidates – Rs 200/-
